ONE-MAN WRECKING CREW

With this build, your Railmaster becomes a one-stop shop for widespread destruction!

ONE-MAN WRECKING CREW

Railmaster + Flaming Destroyer

Do you like swinging massive weapons in the face of your enemies? Is the Railmaster’s Train not to your liking? We’ve got you covered!  With this build, your Railmaster becomes a one-stop shop for widespread destruction.

This melee build is for people who like to bring the pain and rain flames without a train!

“This Railmaster build is one of my favorites for less-complex gameplay.” Torchlight III Game Designer Michael explains, “Get some big ol' weapons, and swing 'em at your enemies. By leaving the Train out of the build, the Railmaster's Endurance powers can be activated far more often, so you consistently are able to dish out tons of area of effect damage.”

CORE SKILLS

Basic Attack
Many Railmaster builds have some room for Basic attack usage, but this build puts a much heavier focus on it as a primary damage source, powering it up with Pound’s Endurance Bonus buff effect, plus bonus damage effects from Legendary and Passive sources.

Pound
Since Basic Attack is the build’s primary damage source, we want to ramp up its power as much as possible. This means keeping Pound’s Endurance Bonus up as often as possible, so we will mostly be using Pound when Endurance is full.

Spike Drive
What better way to follow up an Endurance-charged hammer strike than with an even bigger hammer strike?

Sword Smash
This build generates more Relic Energy than most, so we want to invest heavily in something to spend it on, and Sword Smash just fits the theme so well. Blazing Pillar is a fine alternative, but you’ll want to burn the Relic Energy faster than Cloak of Flames, in order to power up Summoning Smash faster.

Summoning Smash
I mean, this skill kind of explains itself… who doesn’t want to rain down fiery swords of doom?

SUPPORT SKILLS

Nimble Flames
As the build gets up close and personal, investing heavily in Nimble Flames will help keep you safe from harm.

Lantern Flash
These provide additional damage layers in the form of a Damage over Time and a Vulnerability debuff, for tougher fights such as Elite packs or Bosses.

Blasting Charge
A good pairing with Lantern Flash, this covers a larger area for more monster damage.

Hammer Spin
Being up close means occasionally getting surrounded, or being forced into a disadvantageous position. You’ll need Hammer Spin to get out of trouble quickly.

PASSIVES

Giant Swings
The Core passive of the build. This massively increases Great Weapon and Railhammer damage, and should be fully invested in.

Energizer
Combined with Giant Swings, this maximizes the potential for Relic Energy gains, meaning more time for Flaming Destroyer to do it’s work.

Firestorm
Although the build is strong at AoE clearing already, there’s nothing wrong with adding more.  Firestorm could be substituted for more Tier 2 Synergy bonuses if desired.

LEGENDARIUM

Frenzi's Blade
As the build heavily utilizes Basic Attack, Frenzi’s Blade is quite attractive to maximize attack speed.  However, if your items are providing enough Attack Speed, Frenzi’s can be swapped out.

Battery Ram
Since you’ll be using Pound more than most builds, you can make the most out of Battery Ram’s double damage effect.

Stormblade
Adds additional damage proc effects on basic swings, and is best utilized on a slow weapon, since Stormbreaker can only trigger once per second.  It’s perfect for our Great Weapon or Railhammer.
